APPLICATIONS
HVAC Tape Applications – Ducts, Bulkheads & Insulation
Versatile Applications of HVAC Control Tape
Our SOLAS-approved HVAC Control Tape is trusted across marine, industrial, and construction environments. It provides reliable sealing, bonding, and insulation solutions that meet international safety standards.
KEY APPLICATIONS
Duct sealing: Prevents air leakage, improves energy efficiency, and ensures long-term HVAC performance.
Marine bulkheads: Provides SOLAS-compliant sealing for fire safety and structural integrity.
Insulation bonding: Secures aluminum vapor barriers and insulation foils against moisture and heat.
Saunas and pools: Maintains adhesion in high-humidity and high-temperature environments.
Welding and repair: Offers durable bonding for temporary and permanent fixes.
Bulkheads as per SOLAS
The HVAC Control Tape´s adhesive material have low flame spread characteristics and therefore complies for the following Bulkhead
applications:
• Class A Bulkhead
• Class B Bulkhead
• Class C Bulkhead
Benefits of Using HVAC Tape
Compliance: Meets SOLAS and IMO safety regulations.
Durability: Resistant to heat, humidity, and mechanical stress.
Versatility: Suitable for HVAC systems, marine installations, and industrial projects.
Safety: Non-flammable and certified under DIN 4102.
HVAC CONTROL TAPE APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Optimal temperature during installation of the insulation material should be at a minimum temperature of +5 °C. The surface is required to be free from: oil, grease, dust and solvents before the HVAC Control Tape can be applied to the desired area.
Recommended installation temperature: +5 °C ÷ +40 °C.
NOTE:
Under any circumstances, do not use cleaners containing anti-adhesive agents. Be aware that some plastics and paints may contain anti-adhesive agents leading to bonding failure. Surfaces that are rough or uneven may weaken the bonding.
Storage:
HVAC Control Tape is recommenced to be stored in a dry and clean area in the original packaging, laid flat on the slit edge of the roll at temperatures between +5 °C to +25 °C and protected from UV-radiation.
Step 1
Choose the correct size of the hvac tape needed to your installation and measure the required amount. For pipes and joints, ensure a 50% overlap each turn. Then rip the tape with your hands (no scissors necessary) and make sure not to damage the backing of the tape.
Note: flanges, valves and other irregulary shaped equipment, requires different wrapping techniques.
Step 2
When applying the hvac tape, gradually remove the backing layer. Do not remove the backing layer all at once before installation because oil, spills and dust can cause adhesion problems
Step 3
When applying the hvac tape to a rough or unsmooth surface, there should be two or more wraps around the pipe or surface. Make sure to thoroughly apply the hvac tape, covering the whole area.
